Service Advisor - AA Auto Centre

The AA Auto Centre seeks a dynamic and customer centric Service Advisor to join our team and act as a liaison between our customers and our Service Technicians. Your responsibilities will include welcoming customers, listening to their needs, scheduling appointments, providing ongoing feedback, arranging transportation and verifying insurance before maintenance is scheduled.  Ultimately, you will work directly with customers to understand their needs and provide our Service Technicians with the information required to provide excellent service. Workshop Mechanic - AA Auto Centre

The Workshop Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosis, repairs and servicing of customers’ motor vehicles. Job objectives and work activities: - Inspect vehicles to diagnose faults - Follow checklists and record findings, to ensure all-important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, tyres, lights and other potentially troublesome areas. - Confer with service advisor and /or customers to obtain description/s of vehicle problems. - Examine vehicles, compile estimates of repair costs, and secure applicable approval to perform repairs. - Order necessary parts for repairs in collaboration with Service Advisor. - Discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements with service advisor. - Plan work procedures, using charts, technical manuals, and experience. - Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups. - Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear. - Overhaul or replace carburettors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, and pumps. - Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes. - Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications. - Test drive vehicles, and test components and systems to ensure that the repair/components are functioning within manufacturers’ specifications. - Remove and replace defective mufflers and tailpipes. - Repair and rebuild clutch systems. - Repair and replace automobile leaf springs. - Repair and replace defective ball joint suspensions, brake shoes, and wheel bearings. - Repair, overhaul, and adjust automobile brake systems. Tune automobile engines to ensure proper and efficient functioning. - Any other duties as required by the MD from time to time. Job knowledge: - Sound, up to date Automotive Mechanical knowledge. The incumbent will be responsible for assessing damaged vehicles, estimating the cost of repairs, and repairing vehicles to their original condition. The successful applicant will have experience with body repair kits, spray painting and welding equipment, hydraulic lifters, and pneumatic saws. Job objectives and work activities: - Assessing the extent of motor vehicle repairs, restoration, or customization requests. - Preparing repair or modification cost estimates - Planning, organizing, and scheduling the workflow. - Restoring damaged vehicles to their original condition by removing dents, mending parts, removing rust, repairing scratches, and spray-painting panels. - Ensuring compliance to industry specifications and safety standards.

AT&T seeks an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for assessing damaged vehicles, determining what repairs are necessary, authorising repair work and making sure that all invoices received are relevant. A strong background in the assessment of damaged vehicles is necessary. Candidates from both an insurance, accident management and body shop background will be considered. 
 Job objectives and work activities: - Responsible for the authorisation of suitably costed repair estimates in line with agreed rates, methods and timings. Job objectives and work activities: Effective management and oversight of customer service operations, including oversight of: Daily vehicle intake (logging of job cards, quotation process, approval of expenses related to repairs, communication of approval to technicians etc), monitor and follow up on parts orders, ensuring all parts are booked on system, stock inventory is done, monitor and control the performance of the workshop using appropriate reports and tracking systems (Auto Manage) and ensure that customers' service files are up-to-date and readily available for reference. The Auto Test and Tech group seeks a qualified Auto Electrician to service its workshops within Gauteng (Boksburg, Menlyn, Randburg). The Auto Electrician will be responsible for the auto electrical components of diagnosis, repair and servicing of customers’ motor vehicles. JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS - Work with computer-controlled engine management systems and other systems. - Service, identify and repair faults on electronically controlled machines such as electronic field systems, electronic gear selection, air-conditioning, and monitoring systems and safety systems. - Install electrical components and equipment such as gauges, lights, radios, alternators, starter motors and wiring looms. - Test the repaired parts/vehicles for safety, using special tools in order to ensure the proper operation and the effectiveness of maintenance activities. - Install electrically operated accessories such as radios, strobes, cameras and convertors. - Use of meters, diagnostic instruments, laptops and circuit diagrams to find electrical faults. - Test and replace faulty alternators, generators, starter motors, magnetos and related items such as voltage regulators and batteries. - Use hand tools, specialized electrical tools and instruments and machines, including drills, grinders, presses and lathes. - Follow safety and protection instructions and rules at work and ensure the proper use of equipment and tools to prevent any possible danger. - Solder or weld when repairing electrical parts, sell and install electrical parts and accessories. - Repair and service air-conditioning systems. - Any other duties as required by the MD from time to time.
